An access log is a comprehensive list of all the files that were accessed by the visitors of a given site. Every file which was requested for some reason will be listed, so if you have just one page with 3 embedded pictures, one video and one embedded text file, for example, the access log shall contain a total of 6 entries - one for each of the six files which were accessed when the visitor opened the page. A log usually provides the file name and path, the date, in addition to the visitor’s Operating System, Internet browser and IP address. In some cases you can also find the referrer sites that sent the visitors to your Internet site. The information an access log file contains is in human-readable plain text format. It could be processed by special software on a personal computer and used to prepare reports on the overall performance of an Internet site, independent of the web statistics that your server may have created.

Access Log Manager in Shared Hosting
When you pick one of our

domain names and subdomains which you have added or created inside the web hosting account. Access Log Manager in Semi-dedicated Servers
If you have a
semi-dedicated server account with us, it won't take more than a couple of clicks to activate the generation of access logs by our system if you require them. The feature may be enabled via the Hepsia website hosting Control Panel and this can be done individually for each domain name or subdomain which you have in your account. Whenever you log in and look at the Access/Error Logs section of the CP, you'll find a list of all the hostnames with an On/Off button next to each one. One click shall trigger the log generation and another one shall disable it, so you can control this feature with great ease. A Download link inside the same section will enable you to save the gathered content as a text file, that you could then use on your PC. Whether or not the logs are disabled, you will still be able to download the data that's been previously generated.
